Prior
to joining Pollina Corporate Real Estate, Inc, Mr. Ortiz served
as Managing Director of Sverdrup de Mexico, a subsidiary company
of the Sverdrup Corporation, with responsibility for directing
all the business and project activities of this engineering
company. As Managing Director of Sverdrup Mexico City office,
Mr. Ortiz was responsible for all Latin American projects including
location studies and liaison with various governmental agencies.
Mr. Ortiz brings over 15 years of managerial experience including
project development, management, and resource planning. His
professional competencies are in the areas of location economics,
master planning, socioeconomic impact analysis, market analysis,
and financial feasibility analysis. He has had extensive experience
in managing and conducting market research and analysis for
domestic and foreign international clients including site selection
studies, economic feasibility and financial analyses, environmental
impact studies, demographic analysis, comprehensive plans, and
the application of survey sampling methods and statistical techniques
to business research problems.
Mr.
Ortiz has been recognized with the Outstanding Area Research Award
by the International Development Research Council, the leading
organization for economic development professionals and corporate
real estate executives. He has authored and edited technical papers
on various topics including site selection, economic multiplier
forecasting, and socioeconomic impact analysis.
He has completed his doctoral coursework at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, from which he holds an MA degree in Economic Geography. He holds a BA degree in Social Sciences (Geography/Economics) from the University of Puerto Rico.
